BeatSheet



1.       Establishing Shot – camera starts outside kids room from the doorway, shows poster of rocket on wall with calendar next to it. Date circled on the calendar.
2.       Medium shot – establishing closer into the room from different angle, showing child asleep in bed. Get a closer look at the blueprints on the bed (camera possibly moving from foot of bed up to kid).
3.       Close up – shot of child's face (sucking thumb) moonlight washes over child's face. Kid slowly starts to wake up, rubbing his eyes.
4.       Child moves to window to stare out at the moon. Face looks over from the moon to the calendar on the wall. Showing the date circled. Kids face lights up with knowing that tonight is the night.
5.       Close up – show kids face light up with excitement.
6.       Montage cuts of kid hand tugging on gloved hand and grabbing helmet off of nightstand.
7.       Child slams down blueprints on table (slightly crumbled from excitement) showing the rocket ship on the blueprints. Pan up to rocket ship built from scraps ahead of him.
8.       Child climbs into rocket, interior shot of kid settled in rocket, pulls his goggles on his face and taps the fuel gauge on the wall.
9.       Rocket begins to smoke, rumble, and then squashes down and blasts off.
           As child gets higher in space, he pulls a lever, the top of the rocket opens, show the kid grinning as he flies toward the moon. The moon then shoots down, the sun comes up and the smile fades from the child's face with a sigh. he pulls a lever labeled eject. ejects out (maybe a spring loaded seat). city scape showing a small parachute open.
